We were only open for a matter of days when we realized we missed some of our basic breakfast items, like French Toast for example. Instead of panicing, we kept going with the original menu, and would share the missing items as we spoke with our new customers.

Version 2.0 - is a redesign... we learned from our customers, that they would like catchy names for the more popular items, and why not number the items, so they could ask for #2, or the Grande Slam.
We also learned, the menu is a way to communicate future products or seasonal specials. We decided early on, that each menu revision we print, is going to be on a different color. This helps us with asking someone if they have the yellow menu - as there were a couple price changes, however, mostly the items were renumbered. We have small gaps in the numbering, for growth.
Our new version of the menu, groups Breakfast Plates, Breakfast Sandwiches, Lunch Sandwiches and Wraps, Beverages and Party Orders. By introducing the Party Orders, we grew our weekly gross by 20%, as people now knew they could order cakes and cup cakes for Mother's Day.
